We've seen all the Disney classics that will be made into live-action flicks but there are other movies we think they should send back to the drawing board. Disney's very first live-action remake of one of their classic films was all the way back in 1994 with "The Jungle Book." Since then, they've created remakes of "101 Dalmations," "Alice In Wonderland" and even a made-for-tv "Cinderella" movie starring pop artist Brandy. It wasn't until 2015's "Cinderella" remake that the company really started doubling down and pumping out at least one live-action remake a year. In 2019, Disney released a whopping five liveaction remakes:

  1. Dumbo
  2. Aladdin
  3. The Lion King
  4. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
  5. Lady and the Tramp

There are even more live-action titles in the works to come out including "Mulan," "The Little Mermaid," "Cruella," and more. While many are excited about these new movies, I can't help but wonder if there are some forgotten titles that should be remade instead, because they performed poorly or were just terrible movies altogether.

While the songs in the film were written by the legendary Sherman brothers (Mary Poppins, The Aristocats) none of the songs were as memorable as other movies they wrote for, like the characters in the film. While released in the 1960s, "The Sword and the Stone" didn't have any staying power to become one of the Disney classic films.

Often thought of as one of the worst Disney animated films, the characters are cute but they can't hold up this dumpster fire of a plotline. After rewatching the trailer, I still don't even remember the movie and have no urge to watch it again.

A darker film for the company, the movie was a box office success for Disney and could be another success if they continued bringing truly dark villains together with sweet, cuddly heroes you can't help but cheer for.

One of Disney's darkest animated films, a live-action remake could be an opportunity for Disney to tap into the older fans and give them a grittier version of the story, more true to the Victor Hugo book. I liked the film as a child but a darker version of the Disney story, similar to their take on the new live-action "Mulan" could be even better.
