Amazon Prime Introduces Watch Parties
Amazon Prime is looking to make social distancing a bit less lonely with the addition of the “Watch Party” feature.
There is one host, who controls the movie, starting, stopping etc. Then they can invite up to 99 people to stream along with them.
The other people must have Amazon Prime memberships and be in the US.
Plus it has a cool feature where anyone watching can comment through a messenger board. Like a Zoom call but you're watching a movie.
It’s currently offered with Prime Video for desktop and supports thousands of Prime’s subscription video on demand titles.
It’s gradually being rolled out across the U.S.—so if you don’t have the feature on Prime yet, you should be seeing it available soon.
Best of all: it is a free addition with an amazon prime account.
The only disclaimer, this is not available for movies you have to rent or buy to watch.
