Stores are now realizing that older customers may need a little help battling the crowds to get the essentials that are being hoarded by others. Great job. Many in the Borderland are feeling anxious due to the COVID-19 pandemic happening all around the world. There have been stories of people hoarding and fighting at stores trying to get supplies in case of a lockdown or quarantine in different areas but not everyone has the ability to tussle with the masses to get a roll of toilet paper. Now we are hearing from two companies that say they are going to open early to assist their elderly and disabled customers to get their shopping done safely.

According to KTSM, Vista Supermarkets will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. so their elderly customers (65 years old and up) can shop with fewer customers and before the general public has access. The stores will be cleaned extensively overnight allowing for the cleanest environment possible for the group of people most susceptible to the coronavirus. Stores will open to the general public at 7 a.m. and be open until 10 p.m.
