Texas Man Sues His Woman For Texting During Movie Date
An Austin man is suing his date for a lackluster evening that he blames on her.
Ever been on such a bad date you wish you could get your time and money back? One Austin, Texas man is hoping to get back at least his twenty bucks he spent on his date.
Well, technically his $17.31 back.
37 year-old Brandon Vezmar says that he met an unnamed woman online and took her on a date to see "Guardians of the Galazy" in 3-D on May 6th. He said after the first fifteen minutes of the movie, his date began texting. Vezmar told the Austin American-Statesman:
“It was kind of a first date from hell. This is like one of my biggest pet peeves," Vezmar continued that his date “activated her phone at least 10-20 times in 15 minutes to read and send text messages."
Vezmar said he asked her to not text and she refused. He then told her maybe she should go outside to text. His date did go outside but she ended up leaving him at the theater. Vezmar says that the two went to the theater in her car so when she left, it left him without a ride.
A few days after the date Vezmar said that he texted the woman to ask for her to pay him back for her movie ticket.
The woman's response?
She told the Austin American-Statesman that she only texted on her phone two or three times and it wasn't constant texting. She also said that she is filing a protective order against Brandon Vezmar because he contacted her little sister to try and get the money.
The petition also says "While damages sought are modest, the principle is important as defendant’s behavior is a threat to civilized society."
