O’Rourke Would Be ‘Honored’ To Have Mars Volta Play Inauguration
El Pasoan and presidential hopeful Beto O'Rourke was recently asked if he'd have The Mars Volta perform at his inauguration, which he said he'd be honored. Beto O'Rourke has been busy since kicking off his campaign for President. He raised an astounding $6.1 million in the first 24 hours, which was more than any other 2020 presidential hopeful. He's been the focus of many critics from both Republicans and Democrats but one thing many can agree on is his love of rock and punk music.
According to Blabbermouth, while campaigning at Penn State, a student Joe Phillips asked the former congressman if he would have The Mars Volta perform at his inauguration if he won. Here's what O'Rourke said:
Beto was bandmates with Cedric Bixler-Zavala, who then formed El Paso's The Mars Volta. El Pasoans know Beto as a big rock fan who frequently discusses his love of bands and was even seen at the Metallica concert in his hometown of El Paso, Texas.
