Your Shoes VS Coronavirus
A study from the National Institutes of Health confirmed that the novel coronavirus, COVID-19 can live on surfaces for multiple hours. Now people are questioning the possibility of carrying the virus on your shoes.
Various infectious disease specialists and doctors told The Huffington Post UK, that the possibility of carrying COVID-19 is possible, but it's not as dangerous as what you may think.
Public Health Specialist, Carol Winner explains “Pragmatically, they are on the body part furthest from our face, and we do know that the greatest risk of transmission is person to person, not shoe to person.”
Obviously we understand that our shoes can carry germs, dirt, dust, debris, and plenty of other things from one place to another, but unless your placing your shoe in your mouth, you probably don't have much to worry about.
If that's not convincing enough, you can take extra precautions by removing your shoes when you enter your home, and washing your hands for 20 seconds. Other options include washing your shoes, or wiping them down with a disinfectant wipe.
