  1. People who plan on celebrating Valentine's Day is declining. It was at 63% in 2007, 55% last year, and just 51% this year.
  2. Even though that's declining, the amount people will spend is increasing. People will spend an average of $162. Up from $143 last year.
  3. Men plan to spend about twice as much as women.
  4. Engaged people spend the most, dating people spend the second most, and third most is spent by married couples.
  5. 7% of people say that there is no limit on the amount of money they will spend on themselves.
  6. 6% of people have spent more than $500 on a Valentine's Day, while 7% of people have never spent a dime.
