Las Cruces Man Demonstrates How Not To Steal An Ambulance
I've never stolen a vehicle before, but I think maybe one of the first rules is: don't cause a scene! If you've been on Facebook, Twitter or FitFamEP lately (or regularly in my case) you may have noticed a peculiar video of a police chase involving an ambulance. Now, you may be asking yourself, "why are the police chasing the ambulance?" well, this wasn't just any ambulance, no, it was a STOLEN ambulance!
According to CBS 4 News, 27-year-old Tevyn Traivon Reed took a Life Ambulance from the Providence Transmountain Hospital around 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Reed went west on Transmountain and drove right through the parking lot of the Outlet Shoppes At El Paso with EPPD chasing him. Meanwhile, according to KVIA, on Transmountain, DPS State Troopers were already in pursuit of a driver who fled on foot during a traffic stop when they noticed the police chase. State Troopers were able to assist EPPD and disabled the ambulance with their weapon. Reed was stopped at the 6300 block of Doniphan and was arrested and charged with theft of property, evading arrest or detention with vehicle and failure to identify giving false/fictitious information.
Then, finally, at 1:24 A.M. on Tuesday morning, NMSU student Daniel Miller uploaded a small clip of the hot pursuit on Facebook which then made its way to all social media threads. Mr. Miller, YOU ARE THE REAL MVP! Thank you for showing us all how not to steal an ambulance!
