You have to know of La Grange. Even if you aren't from Texas, you know of La Grange thanks to ZZ Top. Well, about 11 miles south of La Grange, there's the small town of Swiss Alp. What makes Swiss Alp worth knowing? How about a historic dance hall, that you can actually buy on eBay.

The article I first found on statesman.com, which was posted on Tuesday, had the bid at $6,100. Well, just two days later, there has been some action on that auction. As I'm typing this, the current bid is up to $99,500.00.

Directly from the eBay posting, it's described as:

Located in Fayette County, just 70 miles southeast of Austin & 100 miles west of Houston, between Schulenburg and La Grange, this property was built specifically for dancing.  Swiss Alp Dance Hall is a classic example of a historic hall that has seen virtually all of the changing trends and styles of Texas popular music over the last century.  Some of the well-known musicians who have entertained the locals include Bob Wills, Johnny Winter, B.J.Thomas, Roy Head and the Traits.  The hall has hosted many of the best-known Texas artists such as Asleep at the Wheel, Kevin Fowler, Roger Creager, Stoney LaRue, The Original Triumphs and many others.

Structurally and physically, Swiss Alp Hall is a 7,000 ft2 rectangular wood framed hall, with a barn-like structure and gabled roof, pier-and- beam foundation with awning style wooden flap windows that maximize the south Texas breeze.  Next to the hall is a fully furnished café.  This property includes the dance hall, café, and 2 acres of property with a view of the rolling hills of Swiss Alp, Texas.

The auction is open until July 5th, 2017, so you have some time to scrap the money together. But you'll need a lot because that bid of $99,500.00 doesn't even meet the reserve.
