Hall of Fame Texas Ranger Charged with Awful Crime
By any stretch of the imagination, John Wetteland had a very good MLB career. His career spanned from 1989 to 2000 with the Dodgers, Expos, Yankees, and Rangers.
He was a three time All-Star, had 330 saves, with a career record of 48 - 45 and a 2.93 ERA. In 1996 he helped lead the Yankees to a World Series title and was even named World Series MVP. Then in 2005 he was elected to the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame.
That's all well and good, but not really. Because if the crime that John Wetteland apparently committed is true, all of this should be wiped from the record books.
Wetteland was arrested on Monday and freed on $25,000 bond. He is accused of having a child perform a sex act on him, beginning in 2004 when the child was 4, and that it happened twice more during a two year period. FOUR YEAR OLD! Like, this is on the level of the dude from Lost Prophets. Ugh, seriously, look that up but be prepared
I apologize for having to bring this story to you, so here is a palette cleanser. It's from a YouTube channel called Frankenstein's Lab, where basically a couple of guys (who I can't confirm are stoned but I'm guessing they're stoned) watch things like Bill Burr stand up.
