Jamison Land, who has played the character of Beefcake the Mighty since 2011, has announced his departure from GWAR. The bassist revealed he’s left to focus on his family and driving career.

Land was the fourth incarnation of Beefcake the Mighty, replacing Casey Orr in 2011. The bassist performed well over 300 shows with GWAR during his tenure and lent his playing to 2013’s Battle Maximus and 2017’s The Blood of the Gods.

“I’ve parted ways with GWAR,” Land wrote on his Facebook page. “I’m back in KY to spend more time with family and to focus on my driving career. Thank you to all my awesome fans and friends for the past 8 years of support.”

According to his Facebook page, Land currently works as a tour bus and school bus driver, and was previously an “over the road” truck driver.

GWAR have yet to comment on Land’s departure or the future of their Beefcake the Mighty character. The band is currently working on their next studio album and have a “fuck ton of songs” written, according to guitarist Pustulus Maximus.
