First Buc-ee’s Outside of Texas Being Sued
We don't have any Buc-ee's here in West Texas, but if you've ever traveled across our great state, then you are familiar with Buc-ee's.
The first Buc-ee's outside of Texas was opened just a few weeks ago in Alabama, and they're already being sued.
Oasis Travel Center of Robertsville is suing Buc-ee's because they claim that their prices are too low. So low, they could be considered 'predatory pricing,' and that it is doing irreparable damage to the competition in the area.
According to Alabama law, a company can't sell gas for less than they pay for it, and that's the claim against Buc-ee's. That they're selling gas for cheap, to squeeze out the competition in the area.
Buc-ee's did release a statement saying:
"Buc-ee's has always provided our customers with the best experience on the highway, from the world's cleanest bathrooms to great food. Part of this experience includes high-quality fuels, priced fairly and competitively."
The lawsuit isn't going to deter Bucc-ee's though, because they're still planning on opening more locations in Alabama, and branching off into Florida.
