Ezekiel Elliott was the one who held out during training camp to get his big contract. He got it. All the while, Dak Prescott was out there getting the team ready for the 2019 season.

We are now two games into the 2019 NFL season, and Dak is doing everything he can on the field to get that big contract for himself. Through two games, here are his stats:

  • 82.3 completion percentage
  • 674 yards
  • 7 touchdowns
  • 96.2 QBR

Yes, the Cowboys should have beat both the Giants and Redskins to start this season. They have more talent than either of those teams. But strange things happen sometimes. But Dak has shown that he is the leader of this team, and if he keeps this up, he should be compensated appropriately.

Notice I said "if he keeps this up". This is just a two game sample size. He needs to keep doing it for a few more games before Jerry should open up the checkbook. All it takes is one injury to Ezekiel Elliott and we might see Dak regress.
