There are a lot of movies to look forward to this year, especially for the geek fan. Here is a list of movies I'm looking forward to in the first half of this year.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies - February 5th

What to look forward to:

Lena Headey. Yup, Cersei herself is in this one. If you haven't read the book, it's incredibly well done. Written by Seth Grahame-Smith, the same guy behind Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, he took the classic novel and added in modern zombie fiction to spice it up.

Deadpool - February 12th

What to look forward to:

It's the merc with the mouth for crying out loud! Seriously, I've been looking forward to this movie ever since the screen test hit the Internet. Let's just hope they don't do to Wade Wilson what they did in Wolverine and allow him to really be Deadpool. Mainly breaking the fourth wall, in the midst of ultra violence. On a side note, the movie has been banned in China for too much violence. I'd say that's already a good sign.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - March 25th

What to look forward to:

I'm still a little sketchy on this one. I wasn't a big fan of The Man of Steel. Although I'm not as worried of Ben Affleck playing Batman as most. Remember the uproar about Heath Ledger being Joker? I'm not saying he's gonna be that good, but I think a lot was made about nothing. Plus throw in Wonder Woman, and this movie could be damn good.

The Jungle Book - April 15th

What to look forward to:

It's no secret I'm a Disney fan. No matter how weird Buzz and Stephanie might find it. And growing up this was my favorite movie. From The Bare Necessities to I Wanna Be Like You to Colonel Hathi's March, I could recite this entire movie verbatim. Probably still could. Okay, that might be a little bit weird, but I'm okay with it. It certainly helps that this is directed by Jon Favreau too.

Captain America: Civl War - May 6th

What to look forward to:

Do I need to explain this one? Seriously, we get to see Black Panther, Spider-Man will be introduced to the Avengers, and we finally get to see Iron Man and Cap go at it!

X-Men: Apocalypse - May 27th

What to look forward to:

I'm iffy on this one too. Days of Future Past wasn't a great movie, but I did enjoy it. Of course Olivia Munn as Psylocke is a huge plus in my book.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows - June 3rd

What to look forward to:

I liked the first movie. Of course it wasn't the original from the 90's, but I was still entertained. Shredder was a bit much, but my expectations weren't really high going into it. Which probably added to my surprise at how entertained I actually was. Not sure if I'll spend $10 to go see this, but who knows.

Warcraft - June 10th

What to look forward to:

I'm a video game guy, but was never able to get into World of Warcraft. Even dating a girl who played it all the time wasn't enough. I'm a console guy. I'd rather play Halo, Battlefield or Elder Scrolls. But I'm still looking forward to this movie. A movie that almost didn't get made and has been talked about for years.

Independence Day: Resurgence - June 24th

What to look forward to:

Umm, aliens? I think this one is mainly based on nostalgia and the fact they brought back Jeff Goldblum.
