Alan Merrill, I Love Rock N Roll Songwriter Dies From Coronavirus

COVID-19 has taken another victim and this time it is a writer of one of the most iconic rock songs of all time.

Merrill was a huge star in Japan in the 70's and was the original singer on the song.

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts released their version in 1982 and made the song a worldwide phenomenon.

He is survived by his daughter, and wife.

Merrill was 69.
