I'm trying to keep a theme here. 30 is the magic number. Because I am a few days away from turning 30. I'm in the middle of a #MillennialCrisis. Every now and then I'm like, cool, I'm turning 30, I'm totally an adult. Then, the next minute I'm like "OH. MY. GAWD. I'M TURNING 30! WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE?!" It's freaking me out.

Anyways, 1989 was a big year, aside from me being born. The Berlin Wall came down and, of course, Nintendo came out with the Gameboy forever changing gaming. It was then that the generation of 90's kids came alive. We're the generation that remembers growing up without Snapchat and Instagram. Of course we fully embrace it now, but not so long ago we were ruled by Saturday morning cartoons. Not to mention, some great movies that many of us can quote to this day. Here's five great movies that, like me, are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year!

  • 1

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

The third installment of the franchise, and I'm going to also say the final, because we all know what a garbage fire the "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" was..

  • 2

    Batman

    The first of the series!

  • 3

    The Little Mermaid

That's right, in 1989, Ariel and Prince Eric became a part of our world. I can't tell you how many times I watched this as a little girl but let's just say that "Part of Your World" is my go-to karaoke song

  • 4

    Honey, I Shrunk the Kids

How hilarious was this movie?! Can we talk about how amazing the set must have been? Like, "Oh, what's that? Just a GIANT ant!"

    Dead Poets Society

I think Robin Williams was a big part of every 90's kids lives. He was The Genie, Mrs. Doubtfire, he was stuck in the jungles of Jumanji, and he took us all back to Neverland. But this movie, this one makes all of us love him a little more.
