As the festival announcements continue to roll out, Los Angeles' Sunset Strip Music Festival has a big name headlining this year's festivities. Linkin Park will top this year's bill, following in the footsteps of the Doors, Motley Crue, Slash and Ozzy Osbourne.

This year's event rolls out from Aug. 1-3, with the final day becoming a street fair featuring the festival's biggest acts. As usual, Sunset Strip clubs the Roxy, Whisky A Go-Go, Viper Room and House of Blues are all filling their stages with a variety of performers throughout the music weekend.

In the band's posting about headlining this year's event, Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda stated:

We played our first shows as a band in 1998, on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood. When we were approached about an opportunity to play a special show on the strip, we couldn't say no. We are excited to announce that we'll be headlining the Sunset Strip Music Festival in West Hollywood, CA on August 3. This time we mean it … this will be the ONLY U.S. show for the rest of 2013.

By "this time we mean it," Linkin Park is referring to the declaration that their Las Vegas show back in February would be their only North American performance of 2013.

The band's LP Underground members can currently purchase pre-sale tickets here. Tickets go on sale to the general public Wednesday morning (May 15) at 9AM PT via Eventbrite.com. Additional acts for the 2013 Sunset Strip Music Festival will be announced in the coming weeks.
