Q2 Stadium is about to have their first ever concert and it's a big one!! Willie Nelson's 4th of July Picnic!!

The announcement was made by Austin FC President Andy Loughnane that Willie Nelson's annual "4th of July Picnic and Fireworks" will be held at Q2 Stadium this year saying..."This has been something we've wanted to be able to introduce in a way that's authentically Austin. I don't think we could have delivered a more authentically Austin artist" to hold Q2 Stadium's first official concert.

Due to the pandemic, last year's event was a virtual music fest so there is a lot of excitement about getting together in person this for this year's festival.

As always, Willie Nelson has another fantastic lineup of bands for you in 2022 featuring Willie Nelson & Family, Tyler Childers, Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit, Steve Earle & the Dukes, Asleep at the Wheel. Midland, Brothers Osborne, Charley Crockett, Allison Russell and Particle Kid.

Willy is absolutely delighted about this year's upcoming show saying...“I’m so happy to be bringing back my annual 4th of July Picnic for the first time in two years. Come on down. We missed you.”

Did you know that Willie created his annual picnic celebration event in in 1972?

Matthew McConaughey, Austin FC's Minister of Culture, said in a statement..."There’s no one better to kick off our first-ever concert than with the one and only living legend, and a local to Austinites, Willie Nelson,”

Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, April 15, at 10 a.m. at Q2STADIUM.com. There will be both a Live Nation presale and a presale for Austin FC season ticket members and Austin FC waitlist members.

FC President Loughnane said "Q2 Stadium is a multipurpose venue and home of Austin FC so soccer is clearly our priority but we do want to have two-plus acts a year – two to three would be ideal.

You can bet those tickets will go fast so be sure to get yours early!!
