We Came As Romans Announce Spring 2019 Tour
On August 25, post-hardcore icons We Came as Romans suffered the loss of singer Kyle Pavone. They later revealed that seeking a replacement singer was not of interest and after continuing to play last fall with co-vocalist Dave Stephens leading the way, they've just announced their first dates of 2019.
The upcoming tour starts March 19 in Lexington, Ky and finds the band playing with Crown the Empire, Erra and Shvpes. The tour wraps just over a month later on April 28 in San Antonio, Texas. Tickets for the run will go on sale this Friday (Feb. 8) at 10AM local time. See all the stops listed below.
Stephens, the band's co-vocalist, has had to make the transition of taking on Pavone's parts onstage. "We wrote those songs together and they’re still my songs as well, but it’s weird even for me singing his parts" he told Kerrang! in November. "I’m sure it’s kind of strange to the fans and the band, but I can’t imagine how much more strange it would be to have someone else singing them permanently," he continued, going on, "We don’t ever want to add another member again, and at this point, we’re closer than ever. We wanna do our best to honor and make him proud, but never replace him. He definitely won’t be forgotten."
A tribute show in honor of Pavone was held in October and featured a multitude of guests from the metalcore and post-hardcore community. Shortly after the death, We Came As Romans issued a public statement, lamenting that their bandmate had died of an accidental drug overdose.
