The mystique and legends of America's Wild West have captured the imagination of generations around the world. Western movies and the cowboy way of life are what legends are made of.  Earlier this year, True West Magazine named San Angelo the Number 1 spot on the list of "Top True Western Towns in the U.S."

The honor is based on how towns preserved their Old West history through historic buildings, museums and other institutions, historic resources and local old west events. When you consider the competition from towns like Prescott, Arizona, Casper Wyoming and Tombstone, Arizona this is an honor not taken lightly.
