Another major retailer in the United States is closing down, but will Texas lose any of its stores?

A few short years ago, big retailers like Party City and Bed Bath And Beyond always felt like they would be around forever. The Covid epidemic and quarantine changed all that forever. A year with no parties took its toll on retail giant Party City. Then came the ongoing supply chain issues. Same-store sales figures plummeted. As a result, on January 17, 2023, Party City filed for bankruptcy protection.

Luby’s, a popular Texas based cafeteria chain has announced plans to liquidate their businesses and distribute the money to their existing investors. The liquidation also includes Fuddruckers, real estate and their culinary contract services.

ABC News has reported that after the department store chain had filed for bankruptcy, JCPenney is closing 154 stores across the country this year. They are starting liquidation sales as stores reopen amid COVID-19, and then the stores will be closing over the next several months...
