Seven Kingdoms, ‘Neverending’ – Video Premiere

Florida is not exactly viewed as a mecca for power metal, but between icons Kamelot and the lesser known but equally impressive Seven Kingdoms they have the state well-represented. A top-flight female-fronted power metal act, Seven Kingdoms have teamed up with Loudwire to premiere the music video for the song "Neverending" off their forthcoming Decennium album.

The song opens up with a flanger-driven melodic lead and sustained chords before the band links up together and "Neverending" is fully underway. There's clever nuances in the songwriting like the pair of spotlight guitar leads that give way to the mid-tempo verse where Sabrina Valentine's crystal pipes are powerful and emotive, guiding the unrepentant melody. The highlights are numerous, especially the solo trade-offs on the back half of the track and the explosive songcraft found toward the end.

"We are very excited to drop the new video clip for the song 'Neverending.' We filmed this video during the tracking sessions at North Avenue Studios while we were recording the Decennium album along with a few behind the scenes clips from recent shows supporting the In The Walls EP," Seven Kingdoms said in a collective statement.

"We wanted to bring the viewer into the tracking sessions with us for this one since its something we have not done yet," they continued. "The song is a personal take from Kevin [Byrd, guitar], although, we are sure many can relate. Kevin describes it as just writing how he was feeling. Real stuff such as dealing with regret, feeling alone and overthinking. Just simply being human. It's a bit different than the traditional power metal subject matter which made for a great contrast with some of the other music."

Decennium will be released independently by Seven Kingdoms on Jan. 31. A Kickstarter campaign will launch on Dec. 9 and the CD edition will be limited to 1,000 copies. Those looking to secure a vinyl copy of the album will need to act fast as only 250 copies will be pressed, issued on triple gatefold with a poster and additional artwork inside.
