The 2nd(ish) Annual San Angelo First Responders Cook-off is coming to Lake Nasworthy's Spillway Road Aug 13th - 15th with the competition open to all and now is the time to get signed up to be a part of it.

A lot of teams have already signed up so talk to your team and get in on this great cook-off for such an awesome cause....Helping to honor and show our gratitude to our community First Responders in San Angelo who risk their lives and health everyday for the well being of their fellow man.

As I mentioned earlier, a lot of teams have already signed up and the cut off for entry in the cook-off is 50 teams.  Look for plenty of competition as teams are signing up from around the State. Keep in mind there is also a kids competition that will be going on.

Entry fee is $25 per category (cash only please).

Categories include Chicken, Ribs, Brisket and Traditional Poppers.

You can pre-register online by going to their Facebook page  at "San Angelo First Responders Cookoff", or by calling Wendy Johnson at 325-234-0583 or Patricia Murdoch at 325-627-5693. You can also sign up on Friday, August 13th starting at 8 am at the event.

They also have some more spots for vendors to set up booths. The cost is just $50 per booth.

Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd in all meat categories.    Cash prizes for 1st 2nd 3rd in Poppers.
Trophies awarded 1st 2nd 3rd for Kids Q.
Reserve Champion and Grand Champion points will be determined based only on chicken, ribs, and brisket. No poppers.
There will also be a People’s Choice competition: SAPD vs SAFD.
An Awards ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. on August 14th.

By the way, you don't have to be a part of the competition to come out and have some fun during this three day event. Everyone is welcome!!
