While Royal Blood ponder How Did We Get So Dark with their new album title, we can start to ponder how they got so damn catchy with the new single and video for "Hook, Line and Sinker."

Royal Blood fans will note that the track has been floating around since a late summer 2015 performance at the Reading Festival, which explains a bit why the band's performance of the track in their new video feels so tight.

The clip is a performance piece directed by Ben Lowe for The Firepit, with a bit of a different viewpoint. Lowe offers a bit of a fisheye lens effect with blurred vision and some jarring cuts from both onstage and in the crowd during the performance. This goes along with the band's stage show that features maddening on-and-off lighting. As for the song itself, the guys stick to their strong point, with muscular bluesy riffage and definitive beats making for an infectious song that clearly delights the crowd at this performance.

"Hook, Line and Sinker" is featured on Royal Blood's How Did We Get So Dark?, which is due June 16 via Warner Bros. The album also featured the current single "Lights Out." The duo created all ten songs in instrumental form during sessions in Brighton, Los Angeles and Nashville before rocking out the tracks to what listeners will eventually hear. This past November, the pair headed off to Brussels for six weeks where they recorded How Did We Get So Dark? with producer Joylon Thomas. They eventually finished off the album with the assistance of mixer Tom Dalgety in London.
