Road Closures and Delays Expected Today 9/15 in San Angelo
There is one sure sign of progress in San Angelo and that sign quite literally reads: “Construction Ahead”. There must be a lot of progress going on lately as those signs have been popping up a lot.
For drivers, construction can be a headache, especially if you don’t plan.
With that in mind, today there are scheduled closures for construction from Trinity Avenue (located around College Hills) through South Oxford Drive. I know, we all detest delays in our everyday schedule especially when it comes to road construction.
I don’t know about you, but for some reason, where I need to be seems to requires I am delayed by the most construction-laden routes. I must adjust my schedule as I often arrive later than I expected.
Bearing all that in mind, construction closures will be taking place today from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Luckily there are detours so you can get to your destinations, but possibly at a later time. However, if you plan and leave early enough then even the road closures will not stop you on your journey.
Here are the main detours.
if you are trying to go to College Hills, go east on Sac Avenue to A&M Avenue, then to Avenue North. If you are attempting to head to the southern portion of College Hills, then you’ll want to take Patrick Street to A&M Avenue to Sac Avenue.
The other road closure is north of College Hills at the Millbrook intersection. This closure won’t be too long as it ends at noon. If you need to find an alternate route in the meantime, you can go east on Millbrook Drive to Southwest Boulevard to Sherwood Way to Avenue North in order to reach College Hills.
For those drivers trying to go south, simply traverse Sac Avenue to A&M Avenue to Sul Ross Street to Vista Del Arroyo Drive. Let’s just hope your in-dash navigation system doesn’t overheat.
While road closures are an annoyance, remember that the construction taking place should make it a lot easier in the future to get around San Angelo. I, for one, just can’t wait until construction barrels are a bit harder to find.
