Prophets of Rage Reveal Live Video for ‘Prophets of Rage’
One of the year's biggest stories has been the return of Rage Against the Machine's music in a slightly reconfigured form. Rage members Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk have hit the road with Cypress Hill's B-Real and Public Enemy's Chuck D. and DJ Lord under the moniker Prophets of Rage, sharing music from all three acts' catalogs. And now we have a new video for the song "Prophets of Rage" from the group.
The track was initially done by Public Enemy, but has been reworked from the original and has been a favorite during the band's live shows. In the video above, you get a look at the song being performed in the live setting from a number of the band's shows. In addition, you see footage both onstage and off from their appearances playing shows at the Norco Penitentiary, for the residents of Los Angeles' Skid Row and protesting at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.
With Zack de la Rocha off making solo music and giving his blessing, the band reached out to the Cypress Hill and Public Enemy members to join them in spreading their politically-minded music, which they felt was needed during this election year more than ever. At the conclusion of the video, they band closes with the message, "The world isn't going to change itself. That's up to you."
Prophets of Rage are currently in the midst of North American venues, both indoor and outdoor. AWOLNATION and Wakrat are opening shows for them. See their remaining dates here.
