Periphery Get Proggy on New Song ‘Garden in the Bones’
Nearly a month ago, Periphery announced their new album and dished out the concussive new track "Blood Eagle." On "Garden in the Bones," their newest song, the group dials back the intensity with a more spacious offering.
The duality of Spencer Sotelo's voice is utilized perfectly as he alternates between breathy singing and white-knuckled screams over prickly, airy leads and Periphery's signature low-end rhythm riffing. The dreamscape passages lull you into a relaxed state, but it's never long before aggression triumphs.

"We finally spent a year on a record," says guitarist Jake Bowen. "We've never been able to do that. The quality and pacing of the work show we took our time with this one. That's an important note about this. We really got to do everything we wanted to do in the space we had to do it." Mark adds: "I think you can hear the adventurous intent behind much of this material as a result. We're all the happiest we've ever been with a release, and it's no coincidence. Can't wait for you all to hear it."
