Motley Crue Fan Blames ‘Kickstart My Heart’ for Speeding Ticket
Opening with the metallic roar of Mick Mars mimicking the sound of a car shifting gears, Motley Crue's "Kickstart My Heart" was built for speed. But, the law is the law and one Canadian crew fan learned that the hard way, racking up a speeding ticket while listening to the Dr. Feelgood hit in the car.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Manitoba shared an image of the dashboard from the squad car and on it was a radar readout of 145 kilometers an hour (roughly 90 miles per hour).
"This driver’s excuse for going 145kmh? Kickstart my Heart by Mötley Crüe was on the radio. Funny enough, our officer knew he was telling the truth, since he was also listening to it - just at a much slower & safer speed. Fined $639," reads the post which can be seen below. The fine, which was presented in Canadian dollars, equates to about $482 American dollars.
While Motley Crue remained retired from touring, there's other projects stirring, including new music from the hair metal icons. With the biography-turned-movie The Dirt expected to be released in March, there's fresh songs from the band to supplement it and Nikki Sixx has gone on to call them "ball busters." The last we heard, they were getting mixed by producer Bob Rock.
