Thursday was Cliche Day and our listeners were telling us their favorite (and least favorite) cliches. Augustine, a long-time listener and F.O.T.M (Friend of the MoSho) called to tell us about a Spanish cliche known as "The Power of La Chancla."

According to Augustine, The Power of La Chancla is used in familial, as well as business, settings to mean "getting something accomplished, by force if necessary." A rough English equivalent might be, "Speak softly and carry a big stick." Or, if 1980s movies are more your thing, maybe, "I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum."
