James Avery Jewelry Opens A New San Angelo Store
James Avery Jewelry is getting a new location in the Sherwood Village shopping Center.
Back in mid October of this year, the company put an application in for the building inspection at 4520 Sherwood Way, formerly Dickey's Barbecue which closed in March of 2020.
The jewelry store also has a location in Dillard's at Sunset Mall. No announcement has been made as to the future of that location when the new store opens.
James Avery started his jewelry business in a two-car garage in the summer of 1954,with about $250 in capital, a small workbench, a few hand tools and scraps of silver and copper. It was his desire to create jewelry that had meaning for him and his customers as well as having lasting value.
James Avery Artisan Jewelry is still family owned and still located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. The retailer has expanded to 83 James Avery stores in five states and is also available in more than 215 Dillard’s stores in Texas and in 28 additional states. It's also available through JamesAvery.com. James Avery Jewelry is crafted in four Texas workshops—one each in Comfort, Fredericksburg, Hondo and Kerrville.
A company spokesman said "we continue in the tradition of our founder and strive to create jewelry with beauty and meaning, serve our Customers with graciousness and respect, give back to the communities where we do business and create a supportive, inclusive environment where employees work, grow and feel they belong."
Job listings have been posted for assistant store managers at the new location.
