The recall hits two big names from Texas-based Hillshire Brands
Both a Tyson Foods subsidiary: State Fair Corn Dogs on a Stick and Jimmy Dean Pancakes & Sausage on a Stick. Hillshire says a “limited number” of products ended up with “extraneous pieces of wooden stick within the batter,” prompting a massive “abundance of caution” recall. If you’ve got either of these snacks, toss them or take them back to the store. Look for establishment numbers “EST-582” or “P-894” on the packaging, and check the full list of affected items posted by FSIS and Tyson online.
There’s More: Tru Fru Freeze Dried Strawberries
It’s not just corn dogs! The Georgia Nut Company is recalling select Tru Fru Freeze Dried Strawberries in Dark & White Chocolate (and Strawberries & Crème) because of possible metal contamination. No injuries have been reported yet, but the FDA warns it could cause mouth, throat, or stomach injuries.
These treats were sold at major retailers like Target, CVS, Kroger, and H-E-B. If you’ve got them, don’t eat them! It is suggested that you throw them out and contact the company for a refund at 888-293-7748.
