
Texas State Trooper Who Shoved College Player Got Sent Home
A Texas State Trooper who bumped into ... ok, shoved ... 2 college football players during a game at Texas A & M was pulled off duty and sent home following the incident
The Texas Tech Red Raiders were losing, big time, to South Carolina when the "shove seen 'round the world" happened in Lubbock following yet another Carolina touchdown.
The "Home Of The 12th Man" is now one Texas state trooper short.
Following a touchdown late in the 2nd quarter that put South Carolina ahead 26 - 3, Nyck Harbor jogged up a tunnel near the end zone nursing what seemed to be an injured leg.
As he and a teammate walked back to the field, a Texas state trooper approached and shoved his way between them. On live television ...
The "late hit" was seen live on ESPN and it did draw a flag. Texas DPS bosses relieved the trooper of his game day duties and sent him home.

That, to me, looks as though it was intentional and possibly even meant to start an altercation. I'm sure all Texas fans were upset at that particular moment but, c'mon. No need for "Bulls On Parade" here.
There are, of course, 2 sides to every story and this incident lit up social media with most demanding the trooper be fired. Not sure if it will come to that but he was "benched" and sent home.
Was This A Crime?
Depends on who you ask. In football, players are supposed to slam into each other. Off the field, this could be considered assault and many people feel that the trooper should be charged with that.
As for the game, despite the big gap at halftime, Texas staged one helluva comeback and won the game, 31-30.
