Las Cruces is the 2nd largest city in the entire state of New Mexico but don't et that fool you - it's not that big. With a population of around 119K, in Texas, it wouldn't be #2 ... it would be more like #32.
The size of a city doesn't matter though when it comes to evil people and horrific acts. Every city has history worthy of a horror movie.
For what it's worth, Las Cruces doesn't have many, incredibly brutal or heinous crimes. The ones that Cruces can claim though can hold their own against any other city. Large or small.
Las Cruces Worst Murder Sites
(Some of) The worst murders in the history of Las Cruces have yet to be solved. Some of the places where they occurred still stand including the Toy Box Killers Home and the Las Cruces Bowling Alley where 1 adult and 3 kids were murdered in 1990.
That is some seriously dark history.
El Paso Murders
Don't look so smug El Paso. We've had our share of mysterious and unsolved crimes. Take the Patterson's for example or the mystery surrounding the Frome's. We also, for what it's worth, hold claim to the only, unsolved, murder of an FBI agent.
Finally, one of, if not THE worst of El Paso's murders. It was eventually solved but only after local authorities had to finally break down and post the head of the corpse on live TV to ask for help. Crazy.
