Barbers In Odessa, Texas Face Hairy Competition

If you're like most people living in Odessa, Texas, one thing usually remains certain- the need for the occasional hair cut.  Some people are okay with growing their hair and letting it fall wherever it lands while others religiously get their haircut every week or so.  As for me, I fall into the latter part of that notion.  I have gotten a haircut every 2 weeks since I was in the 5th grade.

Being that I recently moved to Odessa in the last 2 months, I was interested in getting my hair trimmed.  But where?  Would I settle for the typical franchise haircut joints like Great Clips or Supercuts?  Or would I put in the effort of finding a barber that I liked.  Having said that, the search began on who I could get to trim this shag carpet on top of my head.  I compiled a list of 3 barbers I found in the Odessa area that may be a good fit.

Endgame Barber Shop

Endgame has 2 locations to serve the Odessa area. I visited the TX-338 Loop location and felt it had a good modern feel.  TVs on the wall and lights everywhere, even at each individual chair, ensuring the barber can see every angle they are cutting. I honestly liked the vibe here, Jorge, the owner seemed knowledgeable and ready to cut some hair. The shop was clean and well maintained and seems like a great place for a cut.

Empire Barbershop

4100 E 52nd St Ste E, Odessa, TX 79762

To me, Empire Barbershop had more of a traditional barbershop feel that I've grown used to over the years back home in San Antonio. Carlos, the owner, said they used to be in downtown Odessa but moved to this location a few months ago. He also told me they do both appointments and walk-ins. They even have a $25 Walk-in special every Tuesday. There was even a pool table where customers get to play while waiting for their cut.

Kreators Barbershop

5119 Wayland Drive, Odessa, Texas 79762

Kreators is a relatively new shop tucked away in a back corner of Wayland Drive. While it may seem small, don't let that fool you. The techs are chopping up fresh, professional-looking cuts, making sure everyone who slides through is leaving looking their best. The great thing about this shop is that it is connected to other businesses such as a smokeshop and a women's health facility. Definitely give this shop a try. Walk-ins welcome every day.  

Are these the only good barbers in Odessa?  Absolutely not.  However, my hair can only grow so fast.  I'll have to find a new batch when it grows back.
