FDA Issues Highest-Risk Recall On Cheese Sold In Texas
I'm not gonna hide it, cheese is one of my favorite things in the world. Now, something is threatening my love in Texas, and I'm not sure how to feel about it. 2025 was full of different food recalls, but I can tell you none of them really affected me.
This one, though...this hits me to the core, being the cheese lover I am. It's not just eating your basic Cheddar or something like that. If a meal can call for cheese, I'm usually on it and adding it to the dish.

Recall Given Highest Threat Level
Most of the recalls we saw over the past year weren't given this threat level. Most of them said if you consumed the product, you'd likely be sick, but symptoms would subside, and you would be ok. Obviously, it could have a different effect on others, but this one is serious.
The FDA has slapped a Class I risk on this recall, the most severe threat they can levy. They say consumption of a product of this level can carry substantial health consequences, including death.
