This Texas City Is the State’s Biggest UFO Hotspot

I have to be honest with you, even though I’m fascinated by UFOs and aliens, I’m not sure I’m ready to see one or the other. But if you are up for an alien encounter, researchers have determined the Texas city in which it is most likely to happen. 

When I think about alien encounters, two movies (and two very different kinds of encounters) immediately come to mind: Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Independence Day. Surely, we can all agree that the friendly encounter of the former is much more preferable than the hostile invasion of the latter.

Nonetheless, there’s no way seeing an alien lifeform in the flesh can’t be scary as hell. I would probably pass out right there on the spot. But that’s just me. However, if you’re chomping at the bit to have your own close encounter, you’ll want to make your way to our state capital. 

According to a study by BetUS, Austin is the top UFO hotspot in the Lone Star State. In fact, it ranks 12th among the U.S. cities in which you are most likely to spot a UFO. There have been 124 UFO sightings in Austin since 2015. 

Now that I think about it, it really shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that Austin is the top UFO hot spot in Texas. I mean, the unofficial motto of our state capital is “Keep Austin Weird,” and frankly, it doesn’t get any weirder than UFOs.
