Another $1M Winner as Texas Lottery Scratch-Off Pays Big

The Texas Lottery continues to shell out big bucks with yet another $1 million jackpot being awarded. That makes two big winners so far for the week of Monday, January 12. It’s enough to make a tightwad like me want to run out and throw down $20 on a scratch-off. 

One thing I’ve learned in all my years of working in the radio business and awarding prizes to our listeners is that there are two types of people: those who win prizes regularly and those who win nothing at all. I’m one of those who fall firmly into the latter category.

San Benito Resident Becomes Overnight Millionaire

Unlike me, an anonymous San Benito resident became the latest overnight millionaire in the Lone Star State with the scratch ticket game Instant Millions, according to a press release. The lucky winner bought the ticket at Stooky Mart, located at 1608 E. Business 77, in San Benito.

More Instant Millions Jackpots Still Up for Grabs

The Texas Lottery isn’t finished handing out millions in the Instant Millions game. That was only the first of four $1 million jackpot-winning tickets in the game. There were also 16 $10,000 tickets printed in the game. So far, 7 of those prizes have been claimed. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are one in 3.80, including break-even prizes.
