Well, isn't this the tiniest traffic jam you've ever seen?

On the streets of Dallas this week, a small fleet of delivery robots ran into an unexpected challenge: each other.

A video circulating online shows six delivery robots frozen at a complete stop after crossing paths. The autonomous machines, designed to transport meals and packages, appeared unable to navigate around one another, creating a miniature traffic jam on the sidewalk. You can watch the video at the end of this article.

Dallas Delivery Robots Get Stuck in the World’s Tiniest Traffic Jam

As cool as the idea of delivery robots is, it looks as if we aren't quite there yet. Am I crazy, or is there plenty of room for those rascals to go around each other and still stay on the sidewalk? Dummies. I think robots are going to have to walk on two feet before they will truly replace human delivery.

I imagine these hiccups are a natural part of introducing new technology into everyday life. It’s a reminder that autonomy is still a work in progress.
