Award-Winning Texas News Anchor Breaks Boyfriend’s Nose After Too Many Margaritas

KBTX weekend news anchor, Heather Kovar, went out for a night of Tex-Mex and adult beverages with her boyfriend. The evening took a turn when they headed back to Heather's apartment across the street after an argument in the restaurant about their relationship.

Kovar, employed by the popular news station out of Bryan, Texas since 2023, allegedly had one too many margaritas and punched her boyfriend in the face, not once, but 12 times, breaking his nose. Court records show that not only did she leave his nose bloody and broken, but Kovar also bit his left arm and scratched his right arm.

The boyfriend barricaded himself in the bathroom to get away from her.

The new station she worked for, KBTX, actually put out a report on the incident. While this was probably pretty embarrassing for the network, Kovar, an award-winning anchor and reporter with over 25 years of experience, is facing the music for her terrible behavior in a very public manner. Her esteemed career in news earned her two New York Emmy awards, an Edward R. Murrow award, and several other associated press awards.

According to KBTX, "management is investigating the matter." There has been no word yet on her current employment status.

One of the downsides to working for a public media platform is that you REALLY have to mind your P's and Q's when you're out on the town. Breaking your boyfriend's nose isn't a great look.
