Earlier this week, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame released their nominees for the class of 2020. While we on the show are glad to hear that bands like Slayer, Motorhead and Soundgarden have been nominated this year, we also don't think that some of the artists nominated should even be on that list. Whitney Houston is great, but is this the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or the Pop Music Hall of Fame? One band that I think definitely deserves to be in it? Nine Inch Nails. Does Trent Reznor care about it? Nope.

Nine Inch Nails have been nominated previously in 2014 and 2015, they didn't make it. Last year, they weren't nominated and many fans thought it was a big snub. Reznor replied by saying:

“I honestly couldn’t give less of a sh*t.”

That's probably the most rock and roll answer ever. Nevertheless, Trent graced the stage of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year to induct The Cure.

Full disclousure, I love Nine Inch Nails. I'm a big fan of Reznor all together and I think we can officially say that 2019 is the year of Nine Inch Nails. While they haven't released any new music, they've been catapulted into the spotlight. Earlier this year, Captain Marvel teamed up with Nine Inch Nails to release a limited edition shirt like the one Brie Larson wears in the film.

Shortly after, we heard the country song heard 'round the world, "Old Town Road" by Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, which samples Nine Inch Nails' "34 Ghosts IV." Then, Black Mirror released an episode with Miley Cyrus sampling and eventually covering "Head Like a Hole" (which Reznor totally approved). It's almost as if Black Mirror totally predicted that Nine Inch Nails would be a bigger this year than ever before.

Do Nine Inch Nails deserve to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Totally. Will they be any less of a great band if they're not inducted? No. Not at all.
