Hook Up With San Angelo’s Annual Youth Fishing Derby
Fishing is one of the most popular sports and activities one can enjoy and San Angelo's Annual Youth Fishing Derby is a very popular event that is coming up on Saturday, June 5th.
People of all ages love to fish. It's relaxing and at the same time can be challenging if you're a serious angler. It's an awesome way to have a fun experience for hours with family and friends, not to mention the great taste of freshly caught fish for dinner.
June 5th is all about our Concho Valley Youth having an awesome and fun Fishing Derby just for them as the City of San Angelo Recreation Division & the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department present the annual Youth Fishing Derby. It's free fishing for our youth downtown along the Concho River.
The Derby gets underway with registration which starts at 7 am at the Celebration Bridge located at 16 East Avenue A along the Concho River.
The Fishing Derby competition is for ages one to seventeen and divided into the following age brackets: one through six, seven through twelve and thirteen to seventeen.
The fishing Derby competition runs from 7:30 am - 10 am on the banks of the Concho River.
All participants must bring their own fishing poles, tackle and bait.
After the fishing competition is done, trophies for the largest fish and most fish caught will be awarded to the winners in each division.
Everyone is invited to enjoy free donuts and juice which will be available while supplies last.
