Foo Fighters Release Surprise Live Rarities EP, Seek Fan Stories
As we wind down the July 4th weekend, how about a little Footh of July celebration? The Foo Fighters sprung a surprise live EP on fans over the holidays, unleashing a three-song effort titled 00950025.
“A good day to take a look in the Foo Files,” teased the band via their socials. “How about a few elusive live tracks?” They then complied with a trio of performances from the early days of their career.
The songs “Wattershed” and “For All the Cows” date back to the Dave Grohl-centric self-titled Foo Fighters 1994 debut, with both performances coming from the band’s 1995 Live at Reading Festival appearance in London. The third song on the EP, “Next Year,” was the final single from the band’s 1999 album, There Is Nothing Left to Lose. It was also notable as one the theme songs to NBC’s Ed. The performance of “Next Year” comes from the Live at Cold Live at the Chapel in Melbourne, Australia back in February of 2000.
You can listen to all three tracks below, and if you like what you hear, you can download or stream the 00950025 EP here.
Meanwhile, in other Foo Fighters news, the band is seeking fan input, looking to collect their stories. “We want to hear about YOU,” states a new tab on the band’s website. “Did you capture a great photo of your crew at a Foo show? Have a memory tied to a Foo Fighters album or song? Or maybe just want to send a message to the band? We want to meet YOU!! Share your Foo Fighters story and include any photos, videos or memorabilia featuring YOU!” Head here to get started.
