The dirtiest of all words has made its way to our newsfeed again, ERCOT. You remember them, right? The Electric Reliability Council of Texas is back in the news as it has warned Texans to conserve energy again this week as the power grid, here, isn't capable of handling the amount of energy needed to "keep the lights on" during these days and nights of extreme heat.

With extreme hot weather driving record power demand across Texas, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) is issuing a Conservation Appeal, asking Texans and Texas businesses to voluntarily conserve electricity [ERCOT]

Yes, this is the same ERCOT that was responsible for the 150+ deaths of Texans during the freeze we experienced a couple of winters ago...when the power grid in Texas failed.

Needless to say, ERCOT is a joke.

So, during this week, Texans are asked to conserve as much as possible by keeping our thermostats set at 78 degrees or higher. ERCOT also urges us to turn off lights and pool pumps while also avoiding using large appliances like dishwashers, washing machines, and dryers during peak hours.

The freeze, that killed many, crippled Texas and our leaders ensured us that would never happen again.

Ouch! That tweet didn't age well. Then again, neither did this one.

In no way is this a political post, merely pointing out that you shouldn't allow your tweets to write checks that you can't cash. It's been almost a year and a half since that devastating storm, yet we're still experiencing issues with our power grid.

Something tells me nothing has been done, except to the taxpayers.

Do your best to stay cool this week, and this summer, and let's hope a solution for our failed power grid comes sooner than later.
