Drag Boat Races Are Back in San Angelo

The Drag Boat Races Showdown in San Angelo is coming back to Lake Nasworthy the final weekend in June!

The Southern Drag Boat Association is bringing the tour to town on June 26^th and 27^th for two days of drag boat action. Tickets are $20 for Saturday, $25 for Sunday and $40 for the weekend. Kids 12 and under are free. Cooler charges are $20 for the weekend (no glass please). VIP tickets, which include breakfast and lunch each day along with premier covered seating, are available for $125. You can get your tickets at the SDBA web site.

The gates will open at 7 am each day for spectators with racing each day from 8:30 to 5. A Chapel will be held at 8 am on Sunday. The Showdown will be live streamed by Bangshift.com.

The Showdown in San Angelo has been a tradition for years now and it will be good to back out to Lake Nasworthy for the drag boat races after the year we’ve had thanks to the Corona virus pandemic.

As you know, it will be a hot weekend, but the drag boat action will be hotter with racers speeding at around 250 miles per hour on the lake.
