David Letterman is Coming to Netflix
It's only been a couple years since he left The Late Show, but he's already making his way back to your TV. Letterman has signed a deal with Netflix for six episodes. They'll each be an hour long and cover one topic. Letterman said in a statement:
"I feel excited and lucky to be working on this project for Netflix. Here's what I have learned, if you retire to spend more time with your family, check with your family first. Thanks for watching, drive safely."
Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos said:
"Just meeting David Letterman was a thrill; imagine how exciting it is for me to announce that we will be working together. David Letterman is a true television icon, and I can’t wait to see him out in the wild, out from behind the desk and interviewing the people he finds most interesting. We’ll have to see if he keeps the beard."
Letterman has said that he would like to interview President Trump and Pope Francis. He apparently does have one guest lined up, but no word yet on who that might be. The show will premiere next year, with just the six episodes for now. But if the show is a hit, that could obviously change.
