So, the simple answer to the question "Is San Angelo safe or really dangerous?" Based on FBI statistics, San Angelo is NOT one of the safest cities in America. It's not even one of the safest cities in Texas.  Relative to Texas, San Angelo has a crime rate that is higher than 9 out of 10 Texas cities.
