It's the end of a year and of a decade and here we've listed the 50 Best Metal Albums of 2019.

This was one of the biggest years for metal in quite a while with a couple of premiere artists all releasing long-promised new records. Yeah, we're looking at you, Tool and Rammstein, who both ended decade-plus long studio droughts with resoundingly powerful records. Slipknot also came back swinging with We Are Not Your Kind, their first full length since 2014.

As we round the corner and stare down the 2020s, we're getting a glimpse of metal's bright future with crushing efforts from 3TEETH, I Prevail, Knocked Loose, Jinjer, Wage War and Creeping Death all in the mix too.
