Be Careful Getting Someone a ‘Take the Hint’ Gift
Thanks to that Peloton commercial, a lot of people are talking about 'take the hint' gifts.
Maybe you are willing to give that gift that tells someone "Hey, you stink. Here's some deodorant." Or "Hey, you're fat. Here's some exercise equipment." Now look. If someone asks for a Peloton bike, or perfume, or anything that can perceived as a "take the hint" gift, that's not that big of a deal. They asked for it.
But, if they didn't, here are some gifts you will probably want to avoid giving someone this year.
- Deodorant or perfume
- A cookbook
- A self-help book
- Exercise equipment
- Cleaning supplies
- An alarm clock
- A toothbrush
- A gym membership
- Breath mints
- A razor
Funny thing is, when I was younger, we would always get orange Tic Tacs in our stockings. But I think Santa was thinking more along the lines of them being line candy, rather than telling us we have bad breath.
