Baroness Debut New Song ‘Borderlines,’ Reveal Next Album Color Scheme
The teasing is over, and Baroness revealed some results over the weekend. Last week, the band started teasing the possibility of new music, revisiting the album colors of all their previous albums, dropping clues about the Pantone color codes for each. Then came a brief musical tease with two new color codes and the suggestion that a full new song could be heard on their tour. Friday night (March 8) in Houston, the band paid it off with the debut of the new song "Borderlines."
In the fan-shot video seen below, the band performed the track live for the first time, showcasing a hypnotic guitar line and John Baizley delivering the vocal with both power and urgency.
The song is the first new taste of music from their upcoming release. It is believed that the album will be titled Gold and Gray or Gold and Silver, as the tease of the song from last week revealed the Pantone colors to be 871 c and 8 c, which when researched coordinate with the colors.
There are some speculating that since there are two colors mentioned, it could signify a double album, much like 2012's Yellow and Green release. Stay tuned for additional details on the upcoming release and look for Baroness on tour at these stops.
