It was a shocking turn of events when As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis was arrested in May for his involvement in an alleged murder-for-hire plot against his wife. As the case against him continues to build and evolve, the details don’t get any less startling. Now, members of the music community like guitarist Zakk Wylde are weighing in with their thoughts on the subject.

In a new interview with Under the Gun Review, Wylde, who has toured with As I Lay Dying in the past, was asked how he felt about the whole situation. In true Wylde form, he was as honest as could be. “That’s just a massive, massive mess over there,” Wylde said. “It’s just like any of our friends, if any of our buddies were gonna do something like that, we’d be like, ‘What are you talking about man?!’”

He continued in a brotherly fashion, explaining, “I get it if he’s pissed off saying, ‘I swear to God I want to rip her f---ing head off,’ but that’s okay, you can dump your feelings out, go to the bar and get tanked and spill your guts, but you’re not f---ing killing anyone dude. Let’s just chock it up as a loss.”

Wylde, sounding like he was talking directly to Lambesis, shared, “Yeah this was a hiccup, it’s a road bump, I get it. I understand him being pissed, but you’re not killing anyone. What a waste." He continued, "Even if he wasn’t in a band, if he just worked at a construction job, I understand him talking about it. It’s fine and dandy — you can say that all day long but you’re not getting a f---ing gun and blowing her brains out. I understand him getting it out of his system, but like I said, once we get back out of that bar, we move forward. That’s the only way to do it, you’ve got to move forward.”

Speaking of moving forward, fans can catch Wylde and his Black Label Society on this year’s Gigantour with Megadeth. Check out all the dates and tour stops below:
